Samsung Galaxy Tab S6: Release Date, News & Rumors

When Samsung declared the Galaxy Note 10 handsets on August 7, we're expecting the company to also release a new tablet as successor to the Galaxy Tab S4. It will be Samsung Galaxy Tab S6.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 – Release date and Key features:

August 7, New York City – that’s the time and place that Samsung has chosen for its next major launch event. It’s the expected site of the Galaxy Note 10’s reveal first and foremost but there’s also a chance that the company could use this platform to showcase the Tab S6 as well.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Rumors

The leaked images further confirm that Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 will feature a dual-camera setup on the back, a first for any Samsung tablet. It is placed on the side and right above the S Pen groove. If earlier reports are any indication, the newest model from the Tab 'S' series will have a 13-megapixel main sensor and a 5-megapixel wide-angle sensor.

Unlike its predecessor, it is clearly seen that Galaxy Tab S6 won't have a headphone jack and has a metal-based build instead of glass. However, it still keeps some of the design of the Galaxy Tab S4. For example, it still has four speakers (two on top and two on the bottom), with the bottom two separated by a USB Type-C port.

Earlier reports stated that Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and run on Android 9 Pie out of the box. It will come with a 10.5-inch display, 6GB of RAM, and 128 GB storage, with an option to upgrade to 256 GB.

Galaxy Tab S6 expected price:

Although the Tab S5e is affordable, we don't expect the Tab S6 to be cheap at all. You can bet that the Tab S6 will either be the same or even more. An optional LTE model will be even more expensive. This is a opposing to the iPad Pro models rather than the more affordable regular Apple tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 – Design:

Previously leaked real-life images initially suggested that the new tablet's design has a groove on the back that would house the S Pen. Now, the latest rumors indicate that it may be true. This feature will also likely allow the tablet to wirelessly charge the S Pen given the tech firm's device-wide approach. It is also anticipated to be Bluetooth-enabled. It no longer has the metal ring that can be seen with the Galaxy Tab S4 S Pen, and this time, it has a top cap.

Better processing power:

The Galaxy Tab S4 launched with the Snapdragon 835 chipset, which wasn't the good processor out at the time, and it felt a little bit slow to use. Compared to the iPad Pro range, which features some incredible processing power, the Tab S range often feels a little slow. If Samsung wants to position its tablet as genuine competitors to Apple's powerhouse options, it could do with optimizing them quite a bit more. We are expecting the Tab S6 will allow for that.

Wireless charging or PowerShare:

We'd expect the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 to launch with a good battery as most tablets do. It will be great if you could share that power with your other devices. The Samsung Galaxy S10 range presented Wireless PowerShare that lets you convert your smartphone into a wireless charger to power up your headphones, or other smartphones. If the same was the case for a tab, it would be incredibly useful, due to the sheer size of most tablet batteries.Want to repair your Samsung battery? Here is the solution

A bigger screen:

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 has a 10.5-inch screen, which is decent for a tablet but it doesn't match the larger sizes of the iPad Pro range. Having a huge screen is great for working, as you can see lots of information at once, also it's good for watching video as it helps better recreate a cinema experience on your hand.

If Samsung really wanted to push into the 'premium' tablet market, then, it could do so by widening the screen a little, or at least offer various size options. We expected the company to do this for the Tab S5 range, by offering the Tab S5e as a separate device. Perhaps we could even see the Tab S6 come in a range of sizes, like the Galaxy S10 phones with the S10e, S10 and S10 Plus range.
